Obviously my most special Valentine this year is my baby boy but I also plan on carving out time with my hubs and it’s not going to require finding a babysitter or even leaving the house. Some of these suggestions can include the little ones but I think it’s still important to get that one on one time with your partner if you can! Here are my suggestions:
Ask any new mother on mat leave what the greatest invention in the last 20 years has been and there will be a resounding cheer for online shopping. Because now that I have a kid and showers are far and few between, I like that I can still engage in some retail therapy without having to pretend that I have it all together on the days when I really don’t.
Did you know that Cottage pie is different than Shepherds pie? I mean, very technically speaking. Shepherds pie is meant to be made with ground lamb and cottage pie is made with ground beef. So actually, this is neither because I’m using turkey. HA!
I know it’s a controversial topic… Some moms just don’t believe in giving their kids screen time. They don’t want to rely on the television or iPad or iPhone to entertain their child. That’s totally FINE. Parenting is a unique experience, individual to each and every parent. We’re all going to have different ways of doing things and I think that’s perfectly OK. Let’s just get together, Moms, and agree to not judge each other and agree to disagree if we’re not going to agree… OK?! Ok. Fab. Let’s move on.
Y’all, we’re a week and some into the new year already… that. is. insane.
I, like so many other people am hoping to use the new year and clean slate as my motivation to live a more healthful lifestyle. Cus let’s face it, pregnancy and then recovering from pregnancy can do a number on a mommy’s body, right? That being said, I know that part of getting back to my old self is going to be more about accepting my new self so my goals aren’t necessarily diet related (although I could stand to eat more vegetables and less carbs). It’s more about feeling healthy, strong and embracing the new stuff because it is representative of the hardest, most badass thing I’ve ever done in my life. Mommies… we are incredible. We are. And we need to say it to ourselves and each other more often. So, here are the ways in which I plan on falling in love with my body after baby while still maintaining balance and moderation, cus who doesn’t want to eat the cookies and drink the wine?
